About Dr Peatman

Dr. Peatman combines his expertise in nonsurgical and operative sports medicine with advanced techniques in joint replacement for degenerative hips and knees.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine, and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Peatman joined the U.S. Navy during residency, and served for five years afterwards. He was stationed in Naples, Italy, Pensacola, FL, and Jacksonville, FL. These five years were oriented primarily to sports medicine, though he also practiced general orthopedics and flight surgery/aviation medicine.

Dr. Peatman maintains expertise in all aspects of sports medicine. Having spent 4-years as one of the orthopedic physicians for the Oakland A’s baseball team has kept Dr. Peatman up-to-date in the ever evolving field of sports medicine. He brings the same skills to the weekend athlete that he uses on Golden Glovers.

Dr. Peatman is skilled in knee, hip, and shoulder arthroscopic surgery, and he provides leading-edge options in joint replacement, including the anterior approach (MIS) to the hip, hip resurfacing, and partial knee replacement.

Reviews Mean So Much!

Reviews mean so much to both the doctor providing care as well as to prospective patients. We appreciate your reviews!

Dr. Peatman replaced both of my hips. I know that I am in good hands. He is kind and listens to what you have to say. He discusses the treatment plan with you and he is sent from heaven to treat hurting people.

Great knee doctor. Easy to converse with, and he is very good at telling me his thought about my condition.

I wish I could give Dr Peatman and his staff 6 stars.  He always treated me with kindness and compassion and it made all the difference. His PA Brian, the imaging staff, and the front desk staff are all so kind and friendly as well.
