About Dr Fulkerson
Dr. Eric Fulkerson is dedicated to patient excellence, commitment to quality patient care and contribution to medicine.
Patients recognize him for his hands-on approach to individual patient care and his unsurpassed dedication to excellence and innovation in orthopedic traumatology. Technology and experience are important, but are not everything; Dr. Fulkerson believes compassion is also a key ingredient to good medical care.
A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of California Davis, Dr. Fulkerson completed his internship and residency at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, and gained experience as a trauma surgeon during his fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
Leading the trauma team of nurses, resident physicians and support staff, Dr. Fulkerson is responsible for the initial resuscitation and stabilization of the patient, as well as ongoing evaluation. His goal is to ensure that patients who undergo orthopedic trauma surgery are able to return to normal functions despite the seriousness of their injuries.
The challenging nature of complex orthopedic injuries and the potential for returning patients to normal function led Dr. Fulkerson to specialize in the demanding field of orthopedic medicine. With the broad scope of his training and experience, his commitment for returning patients to their pre-injury state of activity and functioning is the driving force behind his passion for this specialty.
In keeping with his dedication to this field, Dr. Fulkerson has done a number of research projects and published extensively in many orthopedic areas, including orthopedic trauma surgery. As a resident, he was the recipient of the Senior Resident Research Award. He also is part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and is currently a reviewer for Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. His knowledge and experience in many facets of orthopedics allow him to offer his patients the most advanced and individualized approaches to care.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
In his spare time, he likes to snowboard, mountain bike, go rock climbing, and read. He also enjoys gardening and growing his own produce.

Reviews Mean So Much!
Reviews mean so much to both the doctor providing care as well as to prospective patients. We appreciate your reviews!
I’m walking proof of the expertise and professionalism of Dr Fulkerson and his crew.
Dr. Fulkerson listened carefully to my concerns and gave his honest opinion about my hip and the age of a possible break now healed. He was extremely polite and caring, which I appreciated very much.
I was referred to Dr Fulkerson by a friend, I am recouping now but all in all felt he and Gayle were great to deal with. Just hope I don’t have to see them again!:)
