About Dr Michlitsch
Dr. Michlitsch lectures on his areas of expertise locally, as well as on a national level. He has presented his original shoulder research at national meetings of The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Michlitsch places a lot of importance on patient education. He takes the time to help them understand the mechanics of their injury and how treatment can help. Although he explores noninvasive treatment options first, he will use his surgical skills to help patients restore function and mobility when necessary. Dr. Michlitsch is an athlete himself and chose a career in orthopedics after being injured in a sports accident. He has a passion for helping patients return to their favorite activities and developing meaningful relationships with them.
Dr. Michlitsch currently serves as head team physician for Monte Vista High School and acts as an orthopedic surgical consultant for high school and collegiate athletes in the East Bay. He is also an associate team physician for St. Mary’s College and serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at San Ramon Regional Medical Center. A member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, he serves as Co-Director of the Muir Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Program.
With his spare time, Dr. Michlitsch enjoys numerous recreational and sporting events with his wife Jennifer (a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist), two sons and daughter. He also can be found behind the plate, volunteering as a Little League umpire.
