Question: What are you supposed to expect with a shoulder separation?
Answer: For most types of shoulder separations, rest and time are sufficient to allow healing of the injured ligaments to occur. In severe separations, pain and/or instability might necessitate surgical repair. Players with injuries to throwing shoulders typically require longer recovery time.
